Blackwood Recreation Centre closing from 12 noon today
Dear Rec Centre family members
Blackwood Recreation Centre will close at 12 noon today and remain shut until further notice.
The closure is a government requirement, and is part of new measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The decision was made yesterday evening by state, territory and federal government leaders.
These new rules apply to all indoor sports centres.
The health and wellbeing of our members and staff remains our top priority at all times. Although we will not be open to the public for now, we’ll be using our Facebook and Instagram pages to help you stay connected and reach your fitness goals.
We are currently working through the financial impacts this closure will have on your membership/term fees, and further information will be sent as decisions are made.
We understand this is a unique and challenging time and many of you will be concerned and disappointed. But please try to view this as an important and positive step to help us stop the spread of COVID-19.
You are a valued member of our community and this temporary closure has not changed that. Please follow our Facebook page and Instagram page to stay connected with us, receive updates.
For further information about the coronavirus, please visit the Department of Health webpage.
If you are feeling anxious or isolated as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, please see SA Health’s fact sheet on the mental health impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. This contains advice and information on where you can access support during this difficult time.
Thank you for your ongoing support and we will continue to keep you updated on changes to our services.
